The Backrooms is a first-person horror exploration game about finding your way through familiar places that feel quietly wrong. Follow the fluorescent hum through empty offices, a midnight hotel, and a waterlogged reservoir—but listen for footsteps that aren’t yours.

Find a way through

Recover fuses, search for room keys, and close pressure valves to unlock each level’s exit. Explore furnished rooms, save your stamina, and keep track of where you’ve been.

Try not to be found

A creature wanders the halls. Running attracts its attention, and your flashlight makes you easier to spot. Break line of sight around corners and keep moving.

Every recording is different

Layouts and objective locations change between runs. Enter a seed to revisit the same place, retry a failed escape, or beat your best time.
